UPDATE. The Liebert Air Conditioner in 55 Noyes is running normally, but needs an inspection by Liebert personnel. This is currently scheduled for Thursday, December 21, about 9 a.m. to about 1 p.m. The NMR Staff will turn on fans at this time, and monitor the event. We will announce the conclusion of the event.

An all-building power outage is scheduled for Noyes on Wed., December 27 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. NMR spectrometers need to be powered off.
At other times during that week, Tuesday through Friday, events may occur in Noyes that might affect the NMR Lab. Precaution and monitoring should be utilized.

UPDATE; 9:50 a.m.: Liebert Air Conditioner in 55 Noyes is running normally. A typical room temperature has been restored. This is now a stable situation. Some minor work is being done to finish this project, but Liebert operation will not be interrupted from now on. Information is from the technician working on the project today.

UPDATE; 10:50 a.m.: Liebert Air Conditioner in 55 Noyes appears to be running normally. A typical room temperature has nearly been restored. Room thermometer has been reading 74 F, and now reads 70.5 F. The online monitoring system has been reading 76 F and now reads 71 F, which the record shows to be a normal temperature. I will find out whether this is now a stable situation.

UPDATE; 5:25 p.m.: Liebert Air Conditioner in 55 Noyes not running and not powered. Will check status again Tuesday morning, and hope for normal temperatures in 55 Noyes sometime late Tuesday, Dec. 12. I don't know what prompted the change.

UPDATE: Liebert Air Conditioner in 55 Noyes likely to be powered on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 11. Expect normal temperatures in 55 Noyes sometime on Tuesday, Dec. 12. A problem on the roof prompted this change of plans.

UPDATE: Liebert Air Conditioner powered back on at about 11 a.m. today. Room temperature dropped from 79 F to 76 F at 1:30 p.m. Probably will continue to fall. Still expected to be powered off again Tuesday probably about 8 a.m.
Initial entry today: Liebert Air Conditioner outage in 55 Noyes began 24 hours early this morning about 8 a.m. and the temperature is up about 6 degrees F from 73 F to 79 F on our monitoring system. We are running the exhaust fan continuously. Coolant was removed from Liebert by about 10 a.m. Foyer area air cooling still in operation. Complaint made by DLO.

Liebert Air Conditioner outage in 55 Noyes on these inclusive dates (See email from Cruzan sent 13 Nov 2017):
Tuesday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec.8
The Liebert outage will likely begin early Tuesday morning (Dec. 5) and conclude mid-morning Friday (Dec. 8). Lab expected to rise in temperature with some attempt made to achieve cooling by running the exhaust fan.
After the above event, there will be two, 4-hour outages on newly announced dates to change oil in new components and run tests. These will be announced when they become available.
These events are being deliberately performed in the cooler months of the year.

Room temperature rose about 6 degrees F to 78 degrees F (25.5 C) in 4 hours starting at 3 p.m. This was verified in a visit about 7 p.m. and F&S was called at 333-1216 via the U. Police. F&S appeared quickly but turned it over to Refrigeration, as the Liebert AC unit is in error mode and beeping. (It says high head pressure). Refrigeration coming at 9 p.m. UI600 turned off. Fans put on UI300WB. Rienstra group informed by email; 500WB collecting data. F&S knows this is a critical use lab.8 June 2017
Power outage successfully completed on schedule. Electrical contractors consulted, and everything went as planned. No known consequence to NMR Lab in 55 Noyes.6 June 2017
On Thursday, June 8, from 6 - 8 a.m., a partial power outage is planned for the 2nd and 3rd floors only of Noyes, and all but the east side of the building.This is not expected to affect normal operations in the NMR Lab in 55 Noyes.
